Livestock

With 325 classes offered to livestock exhibitors, Okehampton Show has become one of the largest 1 day livestock shows in the South West - at the time of cancelling the 2007 event, we had recieved 230 cattle and 845 sheep entries for the show. With pigs, dairy and pygmy goats adding to the numbers, Okehampton Show is a marvellous showcase for premium quality livestock in this part of the country.

All Exhibitors who entered in 2007 will be sent a Livestock Schedule towards the end of May.

Sheep

New sections have been added for both Beltex and Rare & Minority Breeds. Judging of the Best Group of Three has been added to the Interbreed Championship, with a cup and cash award sponsored by Zintec Feed Supplements offered to the winning group exhibitor.

An extra class for a Pair of Mule Ewe Lambs is included in the Commercial Ewe section and we also offer Fleece Classes for the first time in quite a while. Again, the Junior Showmanship Competition is hugely popular – 32 entries were received at the last event!
