Livestock

With 325 classes offered to livestock exhibitors, Okehampton Show has become one of the largest 1 day livestock shows in the South West - at the time of cancelling the 2007 event, we had recieved 230 cattle and 845 sheep entries for the show. With pigs, dairy and pygmy goats adding to the numbers, Okehampton Show is a marvellous showcase for premium quality livestock in this part of the country.

All Exhibitors who entered in 2007 will be sent a Livestock Schedule towards the end of May.

Pigs

Pig producers are having a very difficult time at present – everyone is having to pay far more for feed due to terrible weather conditions in 2007 as well as increased demand, but the pig producers are suffering more than most.

In recongnition of this fact and for this year only, the Show committee would like to offer each exhibitor entering by the closing date and exhibiting their registered pigs at the show a cash award of £20 - we trust that this will help a little towards costs.

A new section has been put on for the Oxford Sandy & Black breed and Tamworths will now be amalgamated with the Any Other BPA Registered Breed section.
