Livestock

With 325 classes offered to livestock exhibitors, Okehampton Show has become one of the largest 1 day livestock shows in the South West - at the time of cancelling the 2007 event, we had recieved 230 cattle and 845 sheep entries for the show. With pigs, dairy and pygmy goats adding to the numbers, Okehampton Show is a marvellous showcase for premium quality livestock in this part of the country.

All Exhibitors who entered in 2007 will be sent a Livestock Schedule towards the end of May.

Dairy Goats

This is a very popular section – the animals arrive on the Showground the night before to take part in a milking competition, their Inspection Classes taking place on Showday. They are very popular with our visitors and we look forward to seeing lots of them again at the Show this year.

Pygmy Goats

This will be the first time they have appeared at Okehampton Show. Nine classes are offered with a further three Pet Classes. Again, Junior Handlers are well catered for and these delightful goats are sure to be a big hit with the public.
