Horses, Ponies and Donkeys

These form a very large part of our Show and we offer 67 classes to Exhibitors, including four non-affiliated Showjumping classes which can be entered on the day. Please note all other entries must be in by the closing date. Our equestrian visitors range from Miniature Shetlands to Heavy Horses, with Driving Classes providing a wonderful display in the Main ring.

There will be plenty of equestrian trade stands close to the various Horse Rings where you can purchase those ‘must have’ things that all horses need!

Okehampton Show has again been awarded Qualifying Show status for the 2009 West of England Heavy Horse Championships, the Victoria Food Company Open Private Driving Championship and the Osborne Refrigerators BDS National Championships.

This year we will be holding Barrel & Scurry racing in the Main Ring towards the end of the afternoon – entries to be taken in advance but it may be possible to enter on Showday.

All Exhibitors who entered last year will be sent an Equestrian Schedule at the beginning of May.
